For the past two decades it has been successfully
run as a guest house offering hospitality to those wishing to explore
the many attractions of North Lakeland.
Situated on the outskirts of the traditional Cumbrian market town of Cockermouth,
Rose Cottage is a mere three miles from the beautiful Lorton Valley and Buttermere.
To the East is the popular and perhaps better known town of Keswick with the
largest lake, Lake Windermere, only forty five minutes away.
Cockermouth also boasts its own castle with the adjacent
Castle Brewery - why not try the local Jennings beer ?
Local amenities include Golf (two nearby courses),
riding and pony trekking, fishing, tennis and at the local leisure
centre swimming and badminton.
Under the present ownership of resident
proprietors John and Susan Graham, Rose Cottage offers many modern
amenities. All of the seven bedrooms are en-suite, comfortably furnished
and centrally heated. All have colour television and tea and coffee
making facilities. There are two family rooms, three ground floor
rooms and children are most welcome. (Cots are available)
Full English Breakfast is included and dinner is
available every evening except Sunday. Most diets are catered for
and we are also pleased to cater for babies and children. Free private car parking and WIFI internet access is available for all guests.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the house, but we
do request that they are not exercised in the garden. There are many
walks adjacent.
With so much to see and do is it any wonder that many of our guests
return year after year.
